The Founder
Lee A. Schafer is Managing Director of Sargent Advisors LLC. Lee’s track record of successes includes recent M & A client assignments where he was responsible for market intelligence, due diligence, reverse due diligence and senior advisory on the sale of private companies. Most recently he managed the divestiture of RTI Electronics, a non-core asset sold by IntriCon Corporation of St. Paul. Lee’s industry experience includes in-depth work in capital goods manufacturing, medical products, information technology, electronics, and professional services firms.
Prior to forming Sargent Advisors, Lee was Director of Investment Banking for Northland Securities, an institutional investment bank in Minneapolis. His other professional experience includes serving as the interim chief financial officer of a NASDAQ-listed company as well as its corporate development officer. In the investment community he has served as an equity research analyst and research director in addition to investment banking and advisory work. His corporate governance experience includes service on the boards of directors of three privately held corporations, and as an advisor to numerous additional boards.
He currently serves as Treasurer and a member of the board of directors of Neighborhood House, a settlement house and social service agency with a 113-year tradition of service in St. Paul. Lee began his career as an analyst at an investment services affiliate of U.S. Bank, and has also been an award-winning financial journalist. He lives with his family in St. Paul.
